Brad Mixner is the founder of Global EDD Group. Mr. Mixner created MIII Global LLC, the parent company of Global EDD Group, as an innovative technology company with a global vision. MIII Global ventures range from multimedia communications to professional services, each of which leveraging Mr. Mixner's passion for leveraging technology to connect the world.
Prior to founding MIII Global LLC and Global EDD Group, Mr. Mixner provided executive consulting services to a private multinational company that provides a wide range of services to corporate and legal organizations. He came to this company from JurInnov Ltd., a boutique legal technology consulting firm, where he was a consultant and manager of the Electronic Discovery group. In this role Mr. Mixner provided a variety of value added services to his internal and external clients, including:
• Managment of domestic and international professional services engagements, with a focus on:
• Mergers / acquisitions
• Data harvesting and analysis
• Complex litigation
• EDD / ESI consulting services to law firms, corporations and vendors
• Evaluating industry products and services
• Design and implemention document management solutions
• Advice on best practice applications of document management and electronic discovery technology
• Presentation of educational seminars on a variety of legal industry topics, including:
“What to Expect or Request From Your Litigation Support or E-Discovery Vendor,”
“Be Prepared: What You Need To Know About The New Federal Rules On E-Discovery,” and
“Mastering the Latest Technology – Managing The Exponential Growth of Electronic Data Discovery.”
A highlight of his tenure at JurInnov was its designation as a Top 20 Provider in the 2007 Socha-Gelbmann Electronic Discovery Survey, a first for the company.
Mr. Mixner came to JurInnov after a long tenure with Merrill Corporation and TRION Technologies (“TRION”), an industry pioneer in the development of electronic discovery and online litigation support software with their e-Capture and Judicata products. He started with TRION as a Production Supervisor managing imaging and coding projects and evolved progressively to becoming Marketing & Communications Manager where he directly assisted with development, testing and release of the products along with the marketing of the company's services.
Upon Merrill Corporation's acquisition of TRION in 2001, Mr. Mixner transitioned to a role of Project Manager for domestic and international litigation document management projects. His responsibilities with the global legal services company included:
• Imaging and electronic discovery process consulting services
• Design and implementation of complex document management relational databases
• Development of project documentation, budgets and timelines
• Coordination of remote/on-site imaging services
• Training clients on web-based document management software
Mr. Mixner started his career with the Cuyahoga County Child Support Enforcement Agency in Cleveland, Ohio, where he worked for five years with the County Prosecutors Office, Domestic Relations Court, and Juvenile Court while enforcing paternity and child support orders as a Senior Support Officer.
Mr. Mixner is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a concentration in Diplomacy and Foreign Affairs.
David Sems is the Director of Forensic Technology & Investigations for Global EDD Group. Mr. Sems' experience includes 11 years as the Americas Leader of Forensic Analytics for Ernst & Young and extensive familiarity with international work stemming from providing services in 12 countries within Europe and North America.
Mr. Sems' skills cover the full range of services from computer forensic analysis to transactional data analytics. He helps clients by finding the “needle in the haystack”. Using leading techniques including fuzzy string matching, link analysis, text mining, computer forensics and cluster analysis, Mr. Sems leads teams to help clients discover patterns, artifacts and anomalies in huge sets of disparate data that can be used to identify high-risk, non-obvious or suspicious activities.
Mr. Sems holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Akron and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Ohio Society of CPAs. He maintains the designation of Certified Information Technology Professional and Certified in Financial Forensics from the AICPA. David is also an associate member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
